Are your running shoes worn out?

Vero Beach, Fl. We have all heard that our sneakers may look good on the outside but may be worn out on the inside. What do I mean by worn out? Your shoes do more than provide support. They also you give shock absorption with each foot strike. As the foot strikes the ground, the shock will travel a path that leads from the foot to the knee, up the hip and eventually the back. Multiply four to six times your body weight and that’s the amount of weight transfer that spreads through your body. That’s a lot of shock! A good running shoe will last about 500 miles. It should then be replaced. Dr. Thomas Harmody is a chiropractor at Vero Walk-In Chiropractic.
