Vero Beach chiropractor- Tendonitis can be a painful condition and can hinder many activities. A tendon is a very dense fibrous connection between a muscle and the bone it’s attached to. Tendonitis tends to set up at the connection between the tendon and the bone or the tendon and the attachment to the muscle. Those areas of concern become very inflamed and irritated due to overuse of that muscle. For instance: swinging a tennis racket or a golf club over and over. A mechanic cranking on a wrench in the same direction all day long or typing for long periods of time can create the same problem. These are all very common ways to cause tendonitis. Once the achy symptoms have set in, it makes it very difficult to perform these tasks and other tasks using those muscles. Rest and ice are perhaps the best form of treatment for tendonitis. Deep tissue work at the attachment sites of the muscle and tendon are effective to break up any scar tissue or adhesions that have started to form due to the inflammation. Electrical muscle stimulation to the affected muscle can be useful also. Gentle adjustments can free joint restrictions and reduce nerve interference. These can also help the irritation from tendonitis. A chiropractor can perform these treatments to help tendonitis. Dr. Thomas Harmody is a chiropractor at Vero Walk-In Chiropractic 772-360-1245
