Chiropractic History
Chiropractor Vero Beach- On September 18, 1895, the very first chiropractic adjustment was given to a gentleman named Harvey Lillard. This adjustment was given by D. D. Palmer and cured his deafness. From this moment on, the profession of chiropractic was born. Adjustments have been around for millenniums to help cure ailments. Spinal manipulations are seen in the hieroglyphics drawn by ancient Egyptians on cave walls. It was just Dr. Palmer’s act as being credited as the chiropractic adjustment. His son, B.J. Palmer, really started to research chiropractic and help it develop the profession we know about today. Today, this research is taught and expanded upon at Palmer College of Chiropractic and is the oldest institution of its kind.
