What is arthritis?
Vero Beach chiropractor- A very common question that I get is “What is arthritis”. Arthritis is something all of us will eventually get. Some of us get it a little faster then others, but we all will get it as we age. Arthritis is essentially wear and tear on the body and the joints. Through repeated use, the joints in our bodies will wear down and we lose synovial fluid. This fluid is the oil that lubricates our joints and reduces friction when we move. Synovial cells within the joint produce this fluid, but through wear and tear, the amount of these cells present will reduce. When we loose the fluid, we will begin to wear out the cartilage within the joints. Through a process called Wolff’s law, our bodies begin to lay down extra calcium in those joints and this extra calcium is arthritis. It can become inflamed and painful when irritated. Some people reach for OTC medicines to combat the pain. Some people take natural supplements to ease the pain. There are many of routes that help. Chiropractic care can help some people deal with the pain created by arthritis. By adding motion to joints through adjustments, the body can start to reactivate the left over cells within joints to make more lubricant for the joints.
