The difference between acute/traumatic care or periodic care.
Vero Beach, Fl. Chiropractor- Some patients I tell to come back if something ever bothers them and some patients I tell to return tomorrow and the next day. Why the difference? When we say acute care, it means you have hurt yourself and acute injuries usually require some sort of plan of care to make the pain better. Let’s say you picked up something heavy and felt a pop. The pain that exists is usually significant and will require a couple of adjustments to make the problem better. Then there is the opposite, like when somebody may just notice they are a little out of alignment and want a quick tune up to straighten their spines out. These are usually one and done sort of adjustments and I will usually tell those patients to return if anything bothers them in the future. We treat both kinds of injuries and keep people performing the activities the like to play most. Like golf, tennis, pickle ball, weightlifting or just plain running. The walk-in schedule is perfect for this type of practice because you may wake up one morning and decide you just want to come in for a quick adjustment!! Dr. Thomas Harmody is a chiropractor at Vero Walk-In Chiropractic and Wellness in Vero Beach Florida.
