How does stress affect pain?

Chiropractor Vero Beach, Fl.- We all seem to have minor aches and pains that tend to flare up from time to time. I always say, “We are always a product of our past. Both good and bad.” Injuries from the past tend to pop up as painful situations in our future. Those areas can be reinjured more easily. I always like to say that these areas are like a small pilot light that is always smoldering underneath. When we get really stressed out, that small pilot light seems to explode into a full forest fire. Looking at it this way is good way to think of chronic pain and how it’s underneath, but not always symptomatic. It can flare up at any time. When you add stress into the mix, it can be reason for the big flare up. Almost like throwing gasoline on a small fire. Times of stress seem to make any pain worse. So, when having those times of higher stress, remember your chiropractor to help you deal with those chronic body aches. Dr. Thomas Harmody is a chiropractor at Vero Walk-In Chiropractic and Wellness located in Vero Beach, Fl.
